Now that I know the ending of this movie, I debate whether to return it, pop the cork and let the thing settle down for a day or so, or just cellar it. Sagrantino&#39;s tannins are known to have sharp elbows and the 2005 may need more time to mellow out. In the meantime, you might give TJ&#39;s Grifone Primitivo a shot. If you can find that anywhere, I think that&#39;s worth finding. It&#39;s less ebulliently fruity than the 07, and instead is all about rock, violet, and tart red fruit. Definitely way more stuffing than entry level Chinon, but with typical tart red fruit, funk and green.
