Haven't been drinking much lately...but that doesn't mean that I've forgotten about wine. I've been sitting on this CdP for two or three years. Originally, I was planning on having the 05, 06, and 07 all at the same time. Of course, I got derailed when I realized that for that to be a sane plan, I'd need to cook for six people minimum. So anyways, we had bison rib-eyes last night that I rubbed with garam masala; and I thought this would be a good fit. Turned out pretty good. This wine was figgy and delicious.
I had to look up Vire-Clesse to figure out where and what it was. It's in the Macon, so this is value Burgundy. For $10 at Trader Joes, I think you could do worse, although I think other places you could do better. On day two, this was a lot better and more poised. I guess if you're looking for a cheap-ish Chardonnay this would be good bet.
Very floral, with lots of honey and apricoty citrus. Not my favorite overall, but I can see where the appeal lies.
