2005 La Chablisienne Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume

I picked this wine up at Costco for 18$. I would categorize it as a bit on the austere side. Pure, ripe pears, green apples, and wet stones dominate. In the mouth, this wine is rich, but has racy acidity. The finish is all pears and green apples, supported by wet stones. Textbook Chablis. I like this wine, but it really takes a while to show itself off. I'm sure that it could age for a few more years; maybe in that case it wouldn't be quite so austere. I see why wines like this make certain people like California so much--this wine is appealing and tasty, but it's the opposite of in your face. And for a society weaned on McDonald's and Coke, it's no wonder why subtlety isn't a commodity in high demand...B+

Believe it or not I encountered this wine (2008) in Japan. It was a small french restaruant in Ashiya, Kobe, Japan. I like white wine and tasted so many in my life, but this encounter was an exeptional. But, I just can not find them in US. I searched internet endlessly without success in finding where I can get it. Anyone, please let me know if you know the places to get it in USA.
